Instructions

Two actors are working on a scene or improv scenario. Before the actors begin the Director/Teacher privately gives each of the actors a seperate motivation that is unrelated to the scene. The actor then has to work on obtaining the goal while they work through the scene.

Example: Actor 1 Motivation: make the other actor hop on one foot

Actor 2 Motivation: make the other actor hug you

After the actors have obtained their goal the director then changes the motivation. This allows the actors to get out of  the rigid structure  of the scene and work on being in the moment with each other. As well as working together and not against each other.

Adaptations

The scene can include three + actors
