THEATRE GAME: THE ALL-KNOWING BRAIN

Description

Students must answer a question, one word at a time!

Players

Minimum number of players: At least 2

Maximum number of players: No more than 5

Materials

none

Space Required

minimal

Instructions

The group works together to answer questions but each person can only say one word at a time.  A group of students (I usually let between 4-8 students play at a time) sit in a line and are asked a question by an audience member.  The group must then answer the audience member’s question each taking a turn to say a word to add to the answer.  The answer can be as short or long as needed but it must make grammatical sense.  The students must listen to each other and add on to their partners’ words.  Students will not be able to plan what they are going to say.  Some side coaching might be necessary when students are new to the game to encourage proper grammar and knowing when an answer is complete.

Adaptations

A singing version is used on "Whose Line is it Anyway" and is called something like "Three Headed-Broadway Singer."
