Description

To better understand a myth as a story or legend - sometimes invented, sometimes based loosely on fact  that is handed down from generation to generation.

Materials

Full Lesson Plan

1) Explain what a myth is. Give some examples of Greek Myths.

 

2) Students are to develop and create a myth of their own that tries to explain a natural occurance.

 

3) The myth should contain at least three characters as creative as possible.

 

4) The next class period, the students are to introduce their myth to the class and perform the myth.

 

The myth should be at least 1-page long written or 1-page typed double spaced. For higher grade levels, the length can be altered. Grading should be on creativity, diction, projection, eye contact, physical effort and any criteria deemed appropriate.

 

Time length: 2 class periods.
