“Learning to Speak The Speech”
An exploration/workshop
Actors will explore the lines of major Shakespearian works with the purpose of developing a comfortable and insightful use of the language, meaning, and poetry.
Based on excercises used at the Central School for Drama in London and warm-ups
used at the Globe Theatre Actors workshops, GLobe Theatre, London.
Each actor will be given a line from one of Shakespeare’s plays. This line will be the focus as the actors explore the poetry, meaning, and possibilities of their lines.
As a culmination to the workshop, small groups of actors will create an improv using the original lines .
