Global awareness of our ecological footprint is a responsibility of our global community. Global action to prevent the destruction of our planet is a human necessity. International Earth Day began as a small movement in the 1960s when a group of concerned people decided to make a difference! Earth Day in Canada is observed April 22. As part of Earth Day you will be doing your part to bring awareness to issues of waste and pollution. You will be creating a Junk (garbage) costume -- JUNK TO FUNK !! We will host an Earth Day Fashion show at lunch in the cafeteria on Earth Day!

JUNK TO FUNK COSTUME CRITERIA
• All costumes must be at least 60% junk
• All costumes must be wearable.
• All costumes must fit into one of the outlined themes.
• All costumes must utilize a minimum of 3 types of ‘junk’

Your costume will be graded on the thematic representation, detail and creativity. There will also be a peer evaluation based on your attendance, cooperation, gathering resources, and creating the design.
