I began exploring musical theatre in College when my advisor told me that my career path as a high school music educator would require expertise in MT. I found that I loved it and have embraced this American Art Form completely. I have crossed over into Opera as well and have created a professional Opera company for my community of 500,000. My main focus however, is as a teacher of high school students. I enjoy the challenge/reward of working with teens and the experience of teaching choral music and musical theatre is a powerful combination. I met my wife doing community theatre (she is a choreography with a dance degree from Illinois State) and together we are a pretty strong team. We have produced/directed over 60 different productions. I have recently been working for the area professional dinner theatre as music director for several productions. It is a busy life but a full and rewarding one. Theatre people and music people are hard working and dedicated people. What more could you ask for? It has been a thrill to see some of my past students reach Broadway (Miss Saigon, Full Monty, Shrek, The Fantasticks, Les Miserables, Black and Blue). Great stories and great people.
I have done some acting as well. Favorite roles: Che (Evita), Robert (I Do! I Do!), Mr. Applegate (Damn Yankees), MC (Cabaret)
Choral contributor for concerts at Carnegie Hall (John Rutter, Conductor/ Robert Shaw, Conductor)
Lincoln Center (Alice Tully Hall - New York City Choral Festival)
Several European choral tours.
