Bio

A lifelong musician and actor, I am originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma.  Mother of six talented children, I have settled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains to raise them.  I am the vice president and theatre chair of Sager Creek Arts Center in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where I produce, direct and perform in shows, as well as teaching drama camp in the summers.  I am the events coordinator for the music department at John Brown University, where last year I became an adjunct professor of drama production.  I am also the cantor and choir director at my church.

Educational Background

Most of my education is from experience on stage, but I also attended Tulsa Community College.

Favorite Playwright

Neil Simon, if I have to choose; I also like Mary Lynn Dobson

Favorite theatrical moment

When the set began to fall during Disney's Beauty and the Beast, and Cogsworth and I (as Mrs. Potts) caught it and held it up while we danced and finished the scene.

Sondheim or Rodgers and Hammerstein?

Interests

Of course I love music and theatre, but I am also an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and birdwatcher. I love to read and travel, and I do a lot of volunteer work.

Something you should know about me!

I am passionate about everything I undertake! Top of the list are my six children.

Accomplishments

I have successfully kept our local community theatre running for the past year (with no paid employees) while juggling a more-than-full-time job at JBU and caring for six kids (three in college; three still at home).

Upcoming Projects

I am helping with the design and outfitting of the new Berry Performing Arts Center at JBU, where I will be directing "Arsenic and Old Lace" in October. I will also be teaching "Acting Out", a drama camp, at Sager Creek Arts Center in June.
