Bio

I spent most of my life growing up overseas. Presently, I am a drama director at an international school in Seoul, Korea. My husband and I have taught at the school for over twenty years but I have only been drama director for the past three years. In my job, I have the joy of directing in all four divisions of the school-the British school, the elementary school, the middle school and the high school. I also teach IB Theatre Arts Year one and two to high school students. I am interested in pursuing a Masters in Theatre Education; however, I have two daughters in college so I will have to put that on hold until we can afford it. In the meantime, I try to absorb as many theatre experiences I can.

Interests

I love to watch people, meet them, find out about their histories, families and beliefs. I especially love children of all ages. I thoroughly enjoy working with ten year olds as much as I enjoy working with eighteen year olds. I would travel constantly if I had the money but I do travel as much as we can afford. I know little about the mechanics of photography but I love to take pictures and do so often. I am a lover and writer of poetry but I especially love getting kids excited about poetry through Poetry Alive and other forms of breathing life into words. I care about spirituality and ways it can be explored through the arts. I am obsessed with books though I struggle to find the time or quiet in which to read all of them. They wait by my bed in stacks as a result. I secretly wish I could have been a dancer and I am fascinated by modern dance in particular.

Something you should know about me!

I grew up in Seoul, Korea and went back as an adult. As a result, I speak excellent gutter Korean and I try to teach as much Korean theatre in my classroom as possible particularly T'alchum which is Korean Masked Dance.
