After receiving his BFA in acting from Emerson College in 1982, Chris moved to Manhattan. Career highlights include performances at The White House, The Kennedy and Lincoln Centers and in major U.S. cities with the touring companies of Neil Simon’s Biloxi Blues and Broadway Bound. Film: He's Still There, Grandparents, True Colors and The Book of Love. Chris played on three championship softball teams in the Central Park “Broadway Show League.” He is a proud member of Actors Equity Association, Screen Actors Guild, and American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. In 1988 Chris took over as artistic director for Periwinkle National Theatre for Young Audience’s award winning play, Halfway There. In conjunction with this international touring vehicle he trained company actors to facilitate post performance workshops. In 1995 he earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Theatre at New York University, which included study abroad in London and Stratford-on-Avon and an exciting performance opportunity as the Wolf and Prince Charming in Sondheim’s Into the Woods. This led to teaching and directing appointments at New York University’s School of Education and Marymount Manhattan College’s theatre department. Since departing Manhattan in 1997, Chris has dedicated his work-life to theater education on the independent high school level. First at the Portsmouth Abbey School in RI (97-02) and now as Arts and Theater Chair at the St. Paul’s Schools outside of Baltimore. Chris has enjoyed spending some of his summers off teaching and directing at Stage Door Manor and Performance Plus professional theater training camps. .
