Bio

I am a native of New York relocated to the south because my husband and I decided we wanted to actually afford to live in a house that we owned. I am a vocalist, a songwriter, a pianist, a teacher. I am most importantly a Christian, a wife and mother of two wonderful children. I answered my calling to a full-time teaching career in 1992 and I have been doing it ever since. I have directed award-winning choirs in the public schools of NYC, wrote music (one song actually made on someone's album a very long time ago!), performed with a gospel ensemble who traveled extensively throughout South America and other places. I moved to North Carolina in 2005, discovered theatre in the classroom at a new level and fell in love! Now I've been doing that ever since!

Educational Background

I had the privilege of attending the HS of Performing Arts in NYC. Went to Berklee College of Music for undergrad, Teachers College for my masters. I also have an advanced degreed in educational administration and supervision from Hunter College.

Interests

I enjoy writing little anecdotes that I call "spontaneous thoughts" when the urge hits me. Sometimes it turns into a song, a story, or poetry. I am a crocheting junkie when I have time. It is a great stress diffuser. I am movie and tv junkie as well I have to admit. I love to restaurant hop. Food seems to taste better when someone else is cooking it.Of course, I love the theatre and I live music when I can afford to go.

Something you should know about me!

Nothing much. I am pretty transparent most of the time.

Accomplishments

My biggest accomplishment to me has not been what I've accomplished but what I have hopefully inspired my students to accomplish. They are out there singing, dancing, writing and making it happen so you better watch out!Sure I've done a cool thing or two, sung to a sold out show or two. It pales in comparison to making a difference in a child's life.

Upcoming Projects

Nothing right now besides surviving motherhood. Everything else is still thoughts and dreams at the moment.
